Lafia Labs

What happens between appointments matters

Lafia Labs builds digital tools for services that support women affected by sexual violence. Our first product, Steadysome, gives a woman a private place to capture her experience in her own words, and to bring it into her support when she chooses.

Support runs on appointments

When a person is referred, their first appointment can be weeks or months away. After that, sessions happen at set times in office hours.

What a person lives through carries on between appointments, including triggers day and night. And when they go back for their session, a practitioner starts with only what they can recall and put into words in that hour.

Steadysome

Steadysome is a private place for a woman affected by sexual violence to capture what she is experiencing, in her own words, as it happens. Over time, it becomes her own account. She chooses whether to bring it into her support, when, and which parts.

Women affected by sexual violence use Steadysome free of charge. Services license it for the people they support. It is in development.

Steadysome is not a therapy or a crisis service. It sits alongside counselling and advocacy.

How we’re building Steadysome

Her data belongs to her.

Services see only what she chooses to share.

No labels and no judgement.

Steadysome does not grade entries, count streaks, mark a missed day or label the person using it.

Made for the night.

Short prompts and simple screens, for a hard moment.

Private by design.

We do not train models on what she writes. Processing happens in the UK.

For services

Steadysome is designed for Rape Crisis centres, Sexual Assault Referral Centres, Independent Sexual Violence Advisers and services funded by Police and Crime Commissioners.

If you run or commission one of these services, we would like to talk about a pilot.
